ASSISTANT PUBLIC DEFENDER

Assistant Public Defender
Washington County Public Defender ’ s Office is currently seeking a full-time Assistant Public Defender. Under the direction of the Public Defender and supervisors, an employee in this position performs the challenging and inspirational work of providing legal counsel and representation to clients in criminal proceedings in County Court, and the Town and Village Courts throughout the County.
Special Requirement : Candidate must have a license to practice law in the State of New York or must have taken the July 2025, New York State Bar Exam, and be eligible to apply for admission to the New York State Bar.
Starting Annual Salary : $82,383 plus excellent benefits.
