Job Description
Position Summary:
The Department of Statistics at Colorado State University currently comprises 19 faculty and over 50 graduate students, and has a network of faculty affiliates at nearby research agencies. Our faculty members have a wide range of expertise and are involved in various interdisciplinary graduate training and research activities.
The Department of Statistics seeks ongoing applications from individuals who are interested in obtaining temporary, non-tenure track teaching positions within the department. Annual terms and reappointment may depend on performance and/or the continued availability of funding. The department provides instruction of both undergraduate and graduate students. The successful candidate must be legally authorized to work in the United States by proposed start date. The Department will not provide visa sponsorship for this position.
Salary Range:
$55,000 to $80,000
Essential Job Duties:
Essential job duties vary, but may include:
Teach assigned courses in alignment with approved curriculum and learning outcomes.
Prepare and deliver instructional materials and assessments.
Evaluate student work and provide timely feedback.
Maintain accurate records of grades, and hold office hours to support student success.
Specific duties will be defined at the time of hire.
Conditions of Employment:
Pre-employment criminal background check (required for new hires).
Supervision:
This position typically reports to the Department Chair of Statistics.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Applicants must hold a master’s degree in an appropriate discipline, e.g. Statistics, Data Science.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience teaching large sections of a variety of Statistics courses.
