Insight Global Field Technician Foreman - CO in Fort Collins, Colorado

Job Description

The Field Technician Foreman is a working leader responsible for overseeing and participating

in the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical and electrical systems at customer and

project sites. This role combines hands-on technical expertise—including welding, brazing, and

electrical control work—with leadership of field crews to ensure safe, high-quality, and efficient

job execution. The Foreman serves as the on-site representative of the company, maintaining

professional communication with customers and ensuring work meets both internal and client

standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONBILITES:

• Perform hands-on welding, brazing, and fabrication, including TIG and MIG welding of

stainless steel, carbon steel, and aluminum components.

• Lead and coordinate field crews on installation, maintenance, and service projects.

• Interpret and execute mechanical, piping, and electrical drawings or schematics to ensure

accurate installation.

• Install and repair mechanical and electrical control systems including conduit, sensors,

switches, and wiring.

• Conduct daily tailgate safety meetings, verify site readiness, and enforce company and

OSHA safety policies.

• Inspect completed work for quality, safety, and adherence to specifications.

• Troubleshoot and resolve field issues related to welding, assembly, or electrical systems.

• Allocate tools, equipment, and materials for each project and verify readiness before

mobilization.

• Train, mentor, and evaluate field technicians on welding, electrical, and mechanical

techniques.

• Communicate daily job progress, issues, and resource needs to the Field Operations

Manager or Project Lead.

• Maintain accurate field documentation including timesheets, service reports, and job

close-out forms.

• Assist in shop fabrication, pre-assembly, or quality control tasks during periods of limited

field activity.

• Ensure proper housekeeping, safe tool usage, and organized work practices at all times.

Skills and Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma or GED required, technical or trade school certificate in welding or

electrical preferred.

• 4–8 years of experience in industrial field installation, service, or fabrication.

• Demonstrated proficiency in TIG and MIG welding stainless steel (including pipe, vessel,

or structural applications).

• Ability to braze and fabricate assemblies with precision and attention to quality

standards.

• Working knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, including control wiring,

instrumentation, and piping.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, P&IDs, and wiring diagrams.

• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

• Proficiency using digital documentation tools for field reporting and timesheets.

• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record; CDL preferred but not required.

• Willingness to travel frequently (up to 75%) and work extended or irregular hours as

required.

• Physically capable of lifting up to 75 lbs and performing work outdoors or in confined

spaces.
