Position Summary

The Department of Art and Art History seeks to hire an Adjunct Electronic Art and Photography Visiting Artist. This position is non-tenure track, and would be a one-year appointment, renewable for up to three years.

The Art and Art History Department curriculum supports majors in Studio Art (BA, BFA, and MFA), Art History (BA), and Art Education (BFA). Concentrations include: Art Education, Art History, Drawing, Electronic Art, Fibers, Graphic Design.

Essential Job Duties

The position would be a 100% FTE line, consisting of a 3/3 teaching load (75%), service (15%), and research/creative activity (10%). Service responsibilities would include light committee work as well as primary area coordinator responsibilities in Photo and Electronic Art.

Will teach topics like: Introduction to Electronic Art, Topics in Video/Time-Based Media, Interactive Media, Advanced Experimental Video, Advanced Interactive Media, Photo Image Making I, Photo Image Making II, Photo Image Making III, Advanced Photo Image Making I, Advanced Photo Image Making II.

Conditions of Employment

Supervision

Does not have any direct reports.

Minimum Qualifications

A terminal degree (MFA) in Art.

An active creative practice and college-level teaching experience in both Photo and Electronic Art disciplines. This combined skill set - Photo, Video, Electronic Art, and Web Design - is common in many art and design graduate programs.

Preferred Qualifications

Additional preferred qualifications include teaching and professional practice in Graphic Design or other art/design disciplines, which would allow for instructional support in Graphic Design and/or the expanded BFA Design concentration.

Salary Range

$46,000-$48,000
