The Electrical Technician supports the assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical and electronic systems in a development environment. This role works closely with engineers and senior technicians to diagnose issues, execute structured test plans, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. The technician independently performs electrical assemblies, conducts routine testing, documents results clearly, and provides actionable feedback to engineering while assisting with process and documentation updates.
Responsibilities
Assemble and modify electrical and electronic components and systems independently using electrical schematics, diagrams, and work instructions.
Perform hands-on troubleshooting of moderately complex electrical and electronic issues in a lab, manufacturing, or development environment.
Execute structured electrical test plans accurately and consistently to validate system performance and reliability.
Use electrical and mechanical measurement tools to verify assemblies, diagnose issues, and support testing activities.
Document test procedures, observations, and results clearly and completely to support engineering analysis and product quality decisions.
Provide timely feedback to engineering teams on test outcomes, issues found, and potential design or process improvements.
Support process improvements by assisting with updates to work instructions, test procedures, and technical documentation.
Collaborate closely with engineers and other technicians to support development, testing, and troubleshooting activities.
Follow IEC, CE, and UL standards in daily work and support engineering teams with compliance-related analysis and feedback.
Assist with the assembly and routing of harnesses and wiring to meet design and safety requirements.
Maintain an organized and safe work area, ensuring tools, equipment, and test setups are used correctly and safely.
Essential Skills
3–6 years of experience in electrical or electronic assembly and testing.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and diagrams independently.
Working knowledge of electrical circuit principles and their practical application.
Proficiency in independently assembling and modifying electrical and electronic components and systems using schematics and work instructions.
Hands-on experience troubleshooting moderately complex electrical issues.
Experience executing structured electrical test plans in a lab, manufacturing, or development setting.
Familiarity with IEC, CE, and UL standards and the ability to apply them in daily work.
Experience using electrical and mechanical measurement tools for testing and troubleshooting.
Ability to clearly document test procedures, data, and results for engineering review.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical procedures accurately.
Effective communication skills to collaborate with engineers and senior technicians.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Associate’s degree or technical training in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience working with electrical harnesses and wiring in an assembly or testing environment.
Experience supporting engineering teams with analysis, test feedback, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Interest in growing technical depth and developing informal leadership skills over time.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a hands-on technical role.
Comfort working in a development environment that involves testing, troubleshooting, and iteration.
Work Environment
This role is based on-site in a lab, manufacturing, or development environment with a strong focus on real electrical systems and hardware. The work involves a combination of bench work, hands-on assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and light documentation. You will collaborate closely with engineers and other technicians on a daily basis, supporting development and product quality efforts. The environment offers exposure to testing and development tools, opportunities to influence product quality, and the chance to deepen technical skills while contributing directly to industrial products used in the field.

This is a Contract position based out of Fort Collins, CO.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $33.00/hr.
