Information specific to this position: This position will support our PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports) system including through the direct support of students as they strive to meet behavioral expectations. Colorado Department of Education requirements for paraprofessionals at Title I schools preferred but not required:
- Demonstrates successful completion of at least two years of post-secondary?study
OR
- Already holds or will complete by the start of the assignment an?Associates or higher degree
OR
Holds a certificate showing successful completion of an assessment selected by the state or by the employing school district that meets state and federal standards and that demonstrates knowledge of and the ability to assist in instruction of reading, writing, and mathematics.
Pay Range: $19.86-$22.24 (min -- 12% above min)/hr based on qualifications and experience*

*SUMMARY: *Responsible for providing support and assistance to students experiencing behaviors and/or trauma so that they may fully participate in class and school activities. Monitor and reinforce pro-social skills, communicate with staff, collect data and work on special assignments as assigned by building administration.
JOB TASKS:
Provide direct support with students experiencing behaviors and/or trauma by reinforcing behavior skills in individual or small groups, monitoring and enforcing acceptable social and physical behavior, implementing replacement behaviors, behavior plans, safety plans, and/or monitor students and assist with de-escalation.
2. Monitor students in classroom and during breaks, lunch, recess, time outs, on field trips, getting on and off the bus, etc. Reinforce school-wide discipline procedures.
Collect, record and summarize data on observable student behavior, assist with skill acquisition and document interventions and progress data.
4. Communicate with staff regarding student progress. Collaborate with school teams and attend behavior support meetings as necessary.
Assist Teacher and/or administration with special projects.
Attend work and arrive in a timely manner.
7. Attend appropriate in-services, trainings, building meetings, and student educational support planning meetings (i.e., parent conferences and/or school functions). Present at in-service programs as assigned.
8. Perform other duties as assigned
*EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & LICENSES REQUIRED: *
• High school diploma or equivalent • One year of related experience • Experience working with students with behavior needs preferred • Equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS or CERTIFICATIONS: • Criminal background check required for hire • Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) required within 3 months of hire
