Why This Role Exists

Innovation and research efforts move faster when the right people help connect strategy, technology, and execution. This role exists to support DLA Research and Development initiatives by helping coordinate program activities, track emerging technologies, and ensure teams have the information they need to make informed decisions.

As a Program Coordinator supporting Defense Logistics Agency Information Operations (J6) R&D efforts, you will work across technical, operational, and strategic teams to support studies, manage timelines, and help evaluate new technologies that may shape future capabilities. Your work will help ensure research initiatives stay organized, actionable, and aligned with mission priorities.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys structured coordination, collaborating with diverse stakeholders, and supporting innovation efforts that have real-world impact.

What You Will Do

• Conduct technical research to help identify and analyze solutions impacting DLA business units and subordinate commands

• Perform preliminary market research on emerging technologies and prepare findings as white papers, fact sheets, and presentations

• Coordinate meetings with vendors, academia, and internal stakeholders to gather insights on developing capabilities

• Track program milestones, schedules, performance metrics, and project transitions through completion

• Support evaluation of technical solutions for scalability, organizational value, and implementation readiness

• Assist with development of program roadmaps, technology strategies, and annual assessments of disruptive technologies

• Support fiscal and planning activities including budget tracking, obligation planning, and execution monitoring

• Maintain R&D tracking systems and SharePoint repositories supporting contracting, finance, and knowledge management

• Support information gathering activities such as seminars, conferences, and strategic meetings

What We Are Looking For

Required:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business, engineering, operations research, science, finance, public policy, or a related discipline

• Minimum 5 years of experience supporting DLA R&D, DoD technology programs, or supply chain management initiatives

• Experience using SharePoint for tracking, collaboration, or knowledge management

• Strong organizational and coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously

• One certification from each of the following lists:

 ▪ DoD 8570 certifications such as CCNA-Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, or SSCP

 ▪ DLA Approved certifications may include AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate (SAA-003 exam), AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional, AWS Certified Security Specialty, Microsoft Certified Architect for SQL Server, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104 exam)
