About the Job
Venatore is seeking a Digitization Team Lead to oversee onsite records conversion operations in Fort Belvoir, VA. This working lead position is responsible for daily production oversight, workload distribution, quality control, government coordination, reporting, and operational continuity. The Team Lead is accountable for overall team throughput, quality performance, attendance discipline, and direct engagement with government stakeholders. In addition to supervisory duties, the Team Lead will operate high-volume production scanning equipment as needed to ensure monthly production targets are achieved.
Responsibilities
Production Oversight and Workload Management
Review retrieved records boxes to assess complexity, condition, and estimated processing volume
Assign workloads equitably to ensure balanced production across team members
Track daily and monthly throughput against established performance targets
Monitor individual and team productivity, addressing bottlenecks or delays proactively
Conduct daily stand-up meetings to establish priorities and reinforce expectations
Operate production scanning equipment as needed to maintain or recover production pacing
Quality Control Oversight
Enforce real-time quality standards across all digitization activities
Conduct spot checks to ensure image clarity, completeness, accurate indexing, and proper file output
Monitor rework rates and scanning errors, implementing corrective actions when trends decline
Ensure proper handling of fragile and historical materials, including use of carrier sheets and photocopy procedures when required
Maintain adherence to established digitization and records management standards
Government Coordination and Reporting
Serve as the primary onsite point of contact for the Government for daily coordination and reporting
Provide routine production updates, status reports, and issue tracking documentation
Coordinate directly with G6 support elements, IT personnel, facilities staff, and other stakeholders to maintain uninterrupted operations
Submit service tickets and maintenance requests independently at the appropriate level
Establish and maintain professional working relationships within G6 to facilitate timely support
Escalate issues to the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) only when resolution cannot be achieved through standard coordination channels or when contractual guidance is required
Attendance and Workforce Accountability
Monitor attendance and leave patterns to ensure consistent operational coverage
Address performance, reliability, or conduct issues promptly and professionally
Reinforce professional standards and productivity expectations
Provide documented performance feedback and recommendations to management
Equipment and Operational Continuity
Ensure production scanners are cleaned and maintained daily in accordance with manufacturer guidance
Track equipment downtime and coordinate repair or replacement support
Adjust staffing assignments and workloads to mitigate operational disruptions
Required Qualifications
Active TS/SCI clearance
Experience leading production teams within a government or secure environment
Hands-on experience operating high-volume production scanners
Demonstrated ability to manage throughput targets while maintaining strict quality standards
Experience coordinating with government support organizations
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to perform repetitive motions
Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 35 pounds
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting government records digitization efforts
Familiarity with federal digitization standards and NARA requirements
Experience operating Canon, Kodak, Fujitsu, or comparable production-grade scanners
Experience scanning fragile, historical, photographic, or irregularly sized materials
Experience supporting full lifecycle digitization efforts, including OCR processing and metadata application
