Oglethorpe Power Maintenance Manager - Smarr Combined Cycle plant in Forsyth, Georgia
Forsyth, GA, USA | Salary | 139,120-173,900 per year | Full Time
Location: Future Plant Smarr – Forsyth, GA
Department: Plant Operations
Role Snapshot
Build it. Own it. Lead it.
As the Maintenance Manager for the Smarr Combined Cycle plant, you'll play a pivotal role in bringing a state‑of‑the‑art power generation facility to life and then keeping it running safely, efficiently, and reliably for years to come.
This is not a "steady‑state" role. You'll be at the front end of a new plant, setting the foundation for how maintenance is done: building programs, hiring and developing your team, establishing work plans, and ensuring the right tools, parts, and systems are in place from day one. Once the plant is operational, you'll lead all aspects of maintenance across mechanical, electrical, civil, and I&C disciplines.
If you enjoy building structure, leading experienced teams, and taking ownership of plant reliability, this role offers real impact and long‑term visibility.

Build, lead, and develop the site's maintenance organization with a strong safety culture
Establish maintenance programs for a new combined cycle facility, including job plans, preventive maintenance, asset management, and spare parts strategy
Manage daily maintenance activities across mechanical, electrical, civil, and instrumentation & controls
Own the Maximo preventive maintenance program and overall equipment asset management strategy

Plan and manage outages and major overhauls, including contractor performance and safety
Develop, review, and improve maintenance procedures to support safe, efficient operations
Prepare and manage maintenance capital and operating budgets
Analyze maintenance performance, troubleshoot issues, and drive continuous improvement
Partner with Operations and Plant Leadership to support reliable and efficient power generation
Ensure compliance with all applicable safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements
