The goals of the Regional Manager in Ontario, Toronto will include but not limited to;
Beyond Zero Safety - Culture of Caring
Understand, coach and enforce safety rules for staff and subcontractors
Lead by example practicing all safety rules (i.e. wear all PPE and observe all site-specific conditions)
Assess site safety practices, evaluate paperwork (AHA, PTP), staff PPE, review safety scorecard information
Reward exemplary behavior, coach improvement areas
Stop unsafe work when observed
Be knowledgeable on safe work practices, attend same training as field staff as practicable
Actively pursue and facilitate safety improvements through company and client funded means
Perfect Compliance and Perfect Reporting of Non-Compliance
Have complete understanding of all permits and all regulatory expectations by the state, EPA and Jacobs
Complete Jacobs Compliance and Reporting (CNR) Group training modules and be able to train/coach staff on policies and procedures
Obtain working knowledge of process data software for QAQC and report generation (i.e. HachWIMS)
Understand SCADA screens at projects to identify conditions of concern such as alarms and data trends
Repeated or long-standing alarm conditions should be corrected
Attend weekly process control meetings (WPCM) when performing site visits, receive email minutes and review submissions for data trends and items of concern or exceptional performance
Have working knowledge of all equipment and processes at the facility, pump stations and siphons as applicable
Be able to recognize and report (verbally and written) non-compliance events to applicable regulatory agencies and client
Be able to complete or review the internal Preliminary Excursion Guide (PEG) process
Setup PEG calls as needed and identified by CNR group
Obtain minimum lowest level ABC Operators License
Identify maintenance, operational and or compliance risks and mitigate through repairs, process modifications or client involvement. Follow up as needed.
Become well versed in reliability centered maintenance and support the maintenance excellence initiative and maintenance best practices.
Commercial/Fiscal Responsibility
Read and fully understand Jacobs contractual commitments
Draft written communication to client when contractual conditions change
Manage project costs including but not limited to; chemicals, maintenance, utilities, overtime. Track and trend totals and review monthly with RBA. Understand and report on positive and negative variances.
Identify opportunities for costs savings and encourage entire team to understand and control costs through improved target dosages, equipment runtimes and process strategies
Understand Jacobs financial tools and reporting processes (i.e. toolkit), teach team members to use and understand appropriate financial tools
Be able to populate budgetary toolkits for new work, renewals or rollovers in coordination with RBA
Maintain P-Card and T-Card in good standing and procure goods and services as needed to deliver work as promised in our contracts
Work with procurement and safety to minimize emergencies due to lack of available subcontractors or lack of materials (i.e. chemicals)
Develop and track Capital, Repair and Replacement plans and costs
Work with ETS, FTS, LiquidOffice and Concur Workflow programs
General Management Duties
Maintain positive working relationships with all Jacobs staff, clients, vendors, and subcontractors
Develop and maintain Client Relationship Management Plan with PM and RDO assistance
Develop working knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and be able to review KPI reports for accuracy
Direct and Supervise all personnel as needed to meet Project goals and create Team environment
Attend and conduct daily morning meetings with site staff to review daily activities when on site
Attend client meetings as needed
Be able to present in a public meeting and/or to the client organization in a concise and efficient manner as needed
Review, establish and drive completion of comprehensive BRAT standards
Ensure progressive disciplinary system is properly and consistently utilized to help associates to be successful
Identify and pursue opportunities for Project recognition
Respond at all hours to emergencies and direct corrective actions and report as needed
Provide succession plan for Regional Director of Operations
Establish clear and concise expectations, deliverables and skills for all personnel
Develop or recruit personnel to meet project deliverables efficiently and effectively
Provide support to all projects in the region for common regional goals (i.e. staff development, technical support)

15 years’ experience within the municipal water and wastewater industry
5 years’ experience as a Project Manager
Ideally, here’s what you will also have:
20 years’ experience within the municipal water and wastewater industry
10 years’ managing the operations of a water and wastewater project simultaneously
Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent degree
