Job Title: Finish Grinder
Job Description
The Finish Grinder prepares and finishes metal doors by grinding, deburring, and smoothing rough edges to meet quality and safety standards. This role works in a production environment using hand and power tools to ensure each product meets precise specifications and a clean, professional finish.
1st Shift 5am - 1:30pm
Must be flexible for potential OT
Responsibilities
Grind and smooth rough edges on sheet metal doors to achieve a clean and uniform finish.
Deburr metal components to remove sharp edges, burrs, and imperfections.
Use hand grinders and other hand tools to perform detailed finishing work on metal surfaces.
Operate power tools safely and efficiently to support production grinding tasks.
Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality and dimensional requirements.
Handle and position metal doors and components as part of general labor duties in the production area.
Follow production instructions, work orders, and safety procedures consistently.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, including tools and equipment used for grinding and deburring.
Report any defects, equipment issues, or safety concerns to the appropriate personnel.
Essential Skills
Experience using hand grinders to grind and smooth metal surfaces.
Ability to deburr metal parts and remove sharp edges accurately and safely.
Proficiency with hand tools and power tools in a manufacturing or construction setting.
Experience in manufacturing or construction, with familiarity working around metal materials.
Ability to perform repetitive production tasks while maintaining attention to detail.
Understanding of basic safety practices when working with grinding equipment and metal components.
Physical ability to stand for extended periods and handle metal doors and parts as part of general labor.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Previous experience in a metal fabrication, metalworking, or metal door production environment.
Experience as a machine operator or grinder in a production setting.
Familiarity with sanding and other surface finishing techniques for metal.
Ability to read and follow basic work instructions or production documentation.
Strong work ethic and reliability in a fast-paced production environment.

Work Environment
This role operates in a metal door manufacturing environment focused on production grinding and finishing. You will work around metal materials, grinding equipment, hand tools, and power tools in an active production floor setting. The work is hands-on and may involve standing for most of the shift, handling metal doors and components, and working in an environment with typical manufacturing noise and metal dust, where appropriate safety gear is used.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fontana, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
