MCNEILUS STEEL Shear & Brake Press Operator in FOND DU LAC, Wisconsin
JOB REQUIREMENTS: Working Conditions: The Operator may be required to lift and carry objects weighing 75-100 pounds. Standing or walking comprises 90-95% of a normal work day. The Operator generally works eight-hour shifts, though longer shifts may be common. Majority of the time will be spent indoors on the shop floor. Duties / Responsibilities: Cut steel sheets or plates to customer specification. When forming steel, calculates the correct measurements of steel pieces for the correct dimensions to result. Inspect cut material to assure the correct customer specifications have been met. Cut plates and sheets to restock existing inventory. Tag miscellaneous drops of steel to prepare for future sales. Must operate crane and forklift skillfully and safely. Package material for delivery. Perform routine lubrication and maintenance. Learn, understand, and comply with OSHA requirements, company safety rules, and health policies always, working according to good safety practices as posted, instructed, and discussed. Use all safety devices, equipment, and PPE as directed and provided for protection. Performs other duties as instructed and assigned Performs other duties as instructed and assigned Examine completed workpieces for defects, such as chipped edges or marred surfaces and sort defective pieces according to types of flaws. Measure completed workpieces to verify conformance to specifications, using micrometers, gauges, calipers, templates, or rulers. Position guides, stops, holding blocks, or other fixtures to secure and direct workpieces, using hand tools and measuring devices. Position, align, and secure workpieces against fixtures or stops on machine beds or on dies. Clean and lubricate machines.
