Join our team of talented Snow Equipment Installers / Assemblers in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin.

The Snow Equipment Installers / Assemblers are responsible for building, assembling, installing and fitting various types of snow removal equipment.

Essential Functions of the Job:

  • Set up the assembly job by locating parts and gathering materials according to the work order.

  • Assemble, install, remove, troubleshoot, and repair hydraulic mobile equipment components.

  • Ability to install programs and navigate through and change settings (Codesys, J1939).

  • Perform calibration of various flow and pressure measuring devices; hydraulic and pneumatic.

  • Diagnose hydraulic component issues.

  • Troubleshoot hydraulic system issues with intermediate complexity.

  • Align, position and assemble components using hand tools, including impacts and torque tools.

  • Installs moving parts such as engines, clutches, pumps, hoses, and bearings.

  • Drills, taps, or reams holes as necessary.

  • Fabricate and weld parts using MIG wire, as needed.

  • Use overhead cranes and jib cranes to maneuver and assemble large assemblies.

  • Test the unit as needed with hydraulic pressure gauges, checking for pressure and leaks.

  • Performs and documents pre/post inspections.

  • May transport vehicles in a safe and respectful manner.

  • Additional duties may be assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA’s):

  • Strong understanding of the function, operation and maintenance of heavy mobile equipment.

  • Knowledge and basic understanding of metal product assembly techniques.

  • Basic math skills.

  • Ability to read and understand prints, hydraulic schematics and assembly instructions.

  • Knowledge and experience with the use of pressure gages and multimeters.

  • Understanding how various hydraulic components work together - pumps, motors, cylinders, cylinders with censors and multi-section valves.

  • Able to use hand and power tools.

  • Able to perform basic measurements using tape measure, protractor and other measuring devices.

  • Able to operate a manual hand truck and overhead crane.

  • Able to communicate effectively, both verbal and written.

  • Able to wear personal protective equipment.

  • Able to work overtime as the production schedule dictates.

Education and Experience:

  • Requires a minimum of two years of experience in mobile equipment installations, repair and maintenance, or any combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.

  • Previous work experience in engine diagnostics and knowledge in drivetrain, driveline and diesel engines.

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.

Working Conditions:

Work performed in a non-climate-controlled metal manufacturing production environment, with frequent standing, twisting, bending, stooping, and climbing in and around metal fabricated parts. Frequent lifting, pushing or pulling of 50 pounds alone, and >50 pounds with assistance. Requires sufficient manual dexterity and visual acuity to identify required parts and operate production assembly equipment (i.e. hand tools, power tools, forklift truck, etc.)
