Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapy Assistant to join our healthcare team in Folkston, GA. As a Physical Therapy Assistant, you will play a crucial role in helping patients improve their mobility, manage pain, and recover from injuries or surgeries under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
Perform a wide range of therapeutic interventions, including modality treatments, therapeutic exercises, gait training, neuromuscular re-education, manual therapy, ADL training, and wound dressing
Accurately record patient progress and response to treatment in medical charts
Measure and document patients' range of motion, strength, and vital signs as needed
Report patient status to physicians and other healthcare personnel
Provide clear instructions to patients and their families on the use of assistive devices and home exercise techniques
Assist in quality assurance programs as directed by the Physical Therapist
Maintain technical proficiency in physical therapy principles, concepts, and techniques
Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient care and outcomes
Adapt treatment approaches based on individual patient needs and progress
Maintain a clean and safe treatment environment
Qualifications
Graduate from a CAPTE accredited Physical Therapy Assistant Program
Ability to obtain licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant in Georgia
Proficiency in physical therapy principles, concepts, and techniques
Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
Detail-oriented with excellent documentation skills
Ability to work efficiently and effectively in an autonomous environment
Compassion and patience when working with patients of all ages and conditions
Basic PC skills, including proficiency in Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system
Physical stamina to assist patients with exercises and movements
Flexibility to adapt to changing patient needs and schedules
Goal-oriented approach to patient care and treatment plans
Enthusiasm for continuous learning and staying updated on physical therapy best practices
New or recent graduates are encouraged to apply
Note: Willingness to work in Folkston, GA is required for this position.
