Job Title: Patient Service Representative
Job Description
As a Surgical Scheduler, you will serve as the primary point of contact for patients, ensuring a seamless and positive experience both in person and over the phone. Your role involves greeting patients courteously, managing their appointments, and addressing their inquiries promptly. You will handle insurance verifications, coordinate surgical schedules, and ensure all procedures are accurately scheduled.
Responsibilities
Greets patients, customers and family in person and by phone in a courteous and timely manner.
Ensures patient arrival according to schedule and updates patient arrival time when necessary.
Proficient knowledge and understanding of insurance.
Collection of patient co-pays and outstanding balances.
Offers and assists patients with questionnaires dependent on procedure.
Works to resolve all customer issues regardless of the source of the problem by determining and mobilizing the resources required to address the concern.
Schedules and reschedules all exams and appointments
Maintains receptionist and patient waiting areas clear of unnecessary clutter and debris
Stock reception area with needed supplies.
Maintains a consistent level of productivity.
Organizes tasks in an efficient manner.
Communicates proactively with provider offices, technologists, and leadership
Essential Skills
Proficient in customer service and medical terminology.
Ability to verify insurance and manage medical scheduling.
Tech-savvy
High school diploma or GED.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Organized and able to show initiative.
Strong communication skills and reliability.
Personable with excellent customer service skills.
Team player with the ability to learn quickly.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Florham Park, NJ.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $26.00/hr.
