Job Title: Extrusion Machine Operator
Pay: $25 per hour, with $1 and $2 differentials based on shift
Shifts: 1st and 3rd
Location: Florham Park, NJ
Job Description
As an Extrusion Machine Operator, you will operate and run cable manufacturing equipment. The primary focus of the role is to monitor the running and quality of the cable being produced. Once fully trained, you will operate 1-2 cells independently. You will receive an order sheet specifying the cable and material, set up the equipment, and input the specifications into a computer system. You will also troubleshoot equipment during operations or in the event of breakdowns, and regularly refill the material coating the cables.
Responsibilities
Operate and monitor cable manufacturing equipment.
Ensure quality control of the cables produced.
Set up machines and input specifications as per order sheets.
Troubleshoot equipment during operations and breakdowns.
Refill material for cable coating as needed.
Essential Skills
Experience in machine operation and hand tool usage.
Knowledge of extrusion operations.
Proficient in computer skills and machine safety.
Ability to troubleshoot, inspect, and maintain machines.
Mechanical aptitude and power tool proficiency.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
High School Diploma is required.
1-3 years of experience in a process-focused manufacturing environment, preferably in wire and cable production.
Exposure to lean/Six Sigma methodologies.
Ability to interpret specification sheets and job instructions.
Basic Windows operating skills.
Experience with SAP database software is preferred.
Mathematical proficiency including calculations with fractions, decimals, and percentages.

Work Environment
This role operates in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Shifts include 1st Shift (6am-2pm), 2nd Shift (2pm-10pm), and 3rd Shift (10pm-6am). Training will occur on different shifts as needed. The facility is not air-conditioned, and temperatures can be warm during summer. A paid lunch is provided, and meals can be eaten on the production floor.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $27.00/hr.
