Job Title: Industrial Engineering Technician IJob Description

The Industrial Engineering Technician I supports the Industrial Engineering department in planning, designing, implementing, and managing integrated production and service delivery systems within a manufacturing site. This role focuses on assisting Industrial Engineers with layout and process changes in production, maintaining accurate data in industrial engineering systems, and helping ensure performance, reliability, maintainability, schedule adherence, and cost control. The position offers the opportunity to contribute directly to the production of racks and servers for data centers within a large, rapidly growing organization.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Industrial Engineers in preparing production areas for line moves and process changes, ensuring minimal disruption to manufacturing operations.

  • Enter, update, and maintain accurate data in the Industrial Engineering database (IEDB) and other related systems, as directed by the Industrial Engineer.

  • Create and update production visuals, including charts, layouts, and work instructions, to support clear communication on the production floor.

  • Order, receive, and validate tooling and related equipment, ensuring it meets specifications and is ready for use in production.

  • Help standardize industrial engineering processes across the site in alignment with global, regional, and site-specific guidelines.

  • Support the Lean organization by maintaining a solid process foundation and high data integrity to enable ongoing process improvement initiatives.

  • Apply industrial engineering tools such as work measurement, process mapping, and facilities and workstation design under the guidance of Industrial Engineers.

  • Comply with and follow all procedures within the company security policy and other applicable operational procedures.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in production, engineering, and operations to support efficient and reliable manufacturing processes.

  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned to support the goals of the Industrial Engineering and production teams.

Essential Skills

  • Understanding and application of a broad range of industrial engineering tools, including work measurement, process mapping, and facilities and workstation design.

  • A minimum of 1–2 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, or equivalent technical roles, or co-op equivalent experience.

  • Experience supporting process improvement and Lean-focused initiatives in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

  • Strong attention to detail when updating and maintaining engineering and production systems.

  • Basic analytical skills to interpret data and support process and layout decisions.

  • Basic communication skills to collaborate effectively with engineers, production staff, and other stakeholders.

  • Proficiency in the use of personal computers and Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Visio for process mapping and layout documentation.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project for basic project planning and scheduling tasks.

  • AutoCAD skills for creating and updating production layouts and workstation designs.

  • Familiarity with process improvement concepts and methodologies.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • System experience with enterprise and shop-floor systems such as SAP and other manufacturing execution or shop floor systems.

  • Exposure to or experience in environments manufacturing racks, servers, or other complex electromechanical products.

  • Interest in Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and standardization of processes.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-growth manufacturing environment.

  • Willingness to learn new tools, systems, and industrial engineering methods under the guidance of experienced engineers.

Work Environment

This is a fully on-site position within a high-tech manufacturing facility that produces racks and servers for data centers. The role is part of the 402 shift, working from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. on a rotating schedule, Sunday through Tuesday and Sunday through Wednesday. You will work closely with Industrial Engineers, production staff, and other technical teams on the shop floor, using tools such as Microsoft Office, Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Project, AutoCAD, and systems like SAP and shop floor applications. The environment is fast-paced and growth-oriented, with a strong focus on process standardization, data integrity, and continuous improvement to support reliable, cost-effective production.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Florence, KY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.45 - $28.75/hr.
