Position Summary:
Responsible for the overall operation of the following departments - Safety, Compliance, and Quality.
The Manager is qualified by education and experience to provide technical and operational oversight in conjunction with the Vice President to the areas of assigned responsibility. Participates in the development and achievement of quality, service, outcomes research, fiscal productivity and customer/employee satisfaction goals and objectives.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Direct all functions of Safety, Compliance, and Quality providing direct hands-on support for staff.
Direct departmental operations through utilization of reports, staff meetings, observations and personal interaction with other departmental management and staff.
Plan, organize, develop and direct the overall operation of the Departments in accordance with all regulations governing the facility.
Ensure that all state and federal regulations governing the operation of clinical laboratories are followed.
Maintains an awareness and understanding of the requirements for licensure by the respective accrediting/government agencies (eg. CLIA, CAP, JCAHO, OSHA, etc.).
- Recommend future departmental organizational structure, relationships, and functions.
Assist with the development and updating of job descriptions, wage considerations and adjustments, etc.
- Assists in the preparation of departmental budget in conjunction with organizational management; researches and makes recommendations for new capital equipment
Required:
BS/MT (ASCP) or equivalent
Total of 6 years experience in the specialty area.
Current state driver’s license, current proof of insurance, a reliable vehicle and maintain a driving record according to McLaren corporation standards.
Preferred:
Clinical Laboratory specialty certification by a National Certification Agency
Advanced Degree in relevant
clinical specialty
