Position Overview As a Cable/Fiber Technician, you will install, service, and maintain cable TV, internet, and fiber-optic systems for residential and commercial customers throughout Southeast Michigan. You'll work independently in the field, using technical skills and customer-service abilities to deliver high-quality installations and repairs. Experienced technicians are eligible for a $1,500 sign-on bonus. New technicians receive paid training and a clear path to becoming fully field-ready.
Key Responsibilities • Install, troubleshoot, and repair cable TV, internet, and fiber services • Run and terminate coaxial, Cat5/6, and fiber lines • Configure modems, routers, Wi-Fi systems, and set-top boxes • Perform signal testing using meters and diagnostic tools • Educate customers on equipment and service features • Document work using mobile apps or digital work orders • Maintain tools, equipment, and (if assigned) a company vehicle • Work in attics, crawl spaces, basements, and outdoor environments • Follow all OSHA, industry, and company safety standards • Represent Next Solution LLC with professionalism and integrity
Qualifications • Experience in cable, fiber, or low-voltage installation required for the $1,500 bonus • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment • Strong troubleshooting and customer-service skills • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work on ladders up to 28 ft • Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in Michigan weather • High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Skills (Not Required) • Experience with coax, Cat5/6, or fiber termination • Basic networking knowledge (IP, routers, Wi-Fi) • Familiarity with meters and signal levels • Certifications such as OSHA 10, NCTI, or SCTE
