POSITION SUMMARY
The Associate Executive Director oversees the Hudson Valley Division’s OPWDD programs, ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state, and agency regulations. This position ensures that services are delivered in accordance with best practices and within a person-centered framework. The Associate Executive Director fosters positive working relationships with stakeholders, families, and community partners; develops and maintains relationships with external agencies, including OPWDD, DOH, and other government entities; and recommends and develops new programs and service initiatives.
This role is responsible for coordinating and ensuring the timely completion of reports, surveys, applications, and other regulatory documentation. The Associate Executive Director provides supervision, guidance, and coordination to administrative and paraprofessional staff, conducts facility visits (including those outside of traditional hours), and performs other related duties as assigned.
POSITION DUTIES
Develops, implements, coordinates, and monitors systems and procedures to ensure effective delivery of residential and day program services.
Develops new programs and establishes innovative service models based on identified needs.
Directs operations to ensure compliance with federal, state, municipal, and agency regulations.
Ensures that all assigned programs meet and maintain required standards of quality and care.
Prepares proposals and manages approved budgets and staffing allocations.
Coordinates completion, filing, and dissemination of reports, surveys, applications, and other required documentation.
Provides supervision, coaching, mentoring, and performance evaluations to assigned staff.
Interviews, hires, trains, and evaluates staff performance in accordance with agency policies.
Conducts regularly scheduled management and team meetings to ensure effective communication and alignment of goals.
Establishes and maintains strong working relationships with external stakeholders, including local DDSOs and parent/family groups.
Serves as liaison to other administrative departments within Constructive Partnerships Unlimited.
Represents the Hudson Valley Division on statewide committees, advisory groups, and task forces as needed.
Conducts regular visits to facilities, including during evenings, weekends, or holidays, as necessary.
Serves as backup to the Executive Director as needed.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
Senior-level OPWDD leadership experience
Master's degree in a related field
Minimum of eight (8) years of administrative/supervisory experience
Performs all job responsibilities in full compliance with all applicable laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. Adheres to the agency’s corporate compliance program, including the code of business conduct, the NYS and Federal False Claims Acts, whistleblower protections, and mandatory reporting. Completes corporate compliance training at least annually. Fully cooperates in all corporate compliance investigations and reviews.
