SUN GRO HORTICULTURE PROCESSING INC Farm Worker/Laborer (temporary) in FILLMORE, Utah
Temporary Need: 01/01/26 - 06/01/26. Four (4) full-time, seasonal, temporary Farm Workers/Laborers needed. Wage is $16.86/hour. Requirements: Able to drive and lift 75 lbs.
Three (3) months of relevant experience required, and one (1) month of training provided. Experience with driving and operating equipment/trucks required. Ability to speak English is strongly preferred. Post-employment drug tests are paid for by employer when applicable. The employer reserves the right to conduct a background check post-hire at the employers expense IF the employer deems it necessary.
Hours: 56 hours/week, Mon. to Sat.: 6:00am- 4:30pm.
Work location: Fillmore, Utah.
Duties:
On farms, assisting in all aspects of the preparation, processing, and sale of harvested Peat Moss. Employees will handle, prepare, and process harvested Peat Moss in preparation of selling the product to consumers. Duties will include counting and/or measuring product, loading product onto trucks, and moving product with tractors or other heavy equipment. Employees will be expected to clean up the job sites after each day.
Terms and conditions of employment: Must be able to provide employment eligibility documentation (I9 verification) upon hire. All tools, supplies and equipment necessary to perform the duties assigned will be provided at no cost or deposit to the worker. The employer will provide, at no cost to the worker, Workers' Compensation coverage or private insurance which is equal to Workers' Compensation laws for comparable employment. The employer guarantees to offer the worker employment for a total number of work days equal to at least 3/4's of the total work period beginning with the first workday after the arrival of the worker at the place of employment or advertised contractual first day of need. Whichever is later to occur, and ending on the expiration date specified. If the worker completes 50% of the work contract period, the employer shall pay the worker the cost incurred by the worker for transportation and daily subsistence from the place from which the worker has come to work for the employer. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of $16.28 per day during travel to a maximum of $68 per day with receipts. The offered wage equals or exceeds the highest of the prevailing wage (AWER) that is issued and determined by DOL for the time period the work is performed (or whichever is the highest rate). This job is in connection with a future H-2A labor certification application.
