LignoTech Florida Millwright Mechanic in Fernandina Beach, Florida

Description

LignoTech Florida's Maintenance Technician (Millwright) inspects, repairs and maintains mechanical equipment utilizing diagrams, sketches and operation/technical manuals. Participates, leads and executes planned preventative/predictive maintenance activities. Assists with spare parts management. Utilizes systematic and tactical approach in applying Lean Manufacturing techniques, analysis methods and problem-solving tools.

The Maintenance Technician

position will need to demonstrate good project management skills as well as be able to communicate efficiently and effectively within their team, between departments and within the international project teams. The position will also act as a proxy for the Maintenance S

upervisor

of the department.

Support and further improve proactive safety, health and environmental system that meets the required standard and legal requirements when conducting process improvements; knowledge of working in confined space entry protocol, energy isolation, lockout/tag out and line-breaking procedures.

Further develop maintenance procedures and standards as well as lead standardization of equipment and major overhauls/outages to promote best practices within the plant.

Work directly with the Manufacturing Operations Team to support defined continuous improvement activities and attend daily shift meetings as a standard participant.

Directly respond and remedy any specific maintenance needs due to alarms, leaks or repairs-such as replacing fittings, repair pumps/exchanges, instrumentation faults. Assist and perform required weld repairs as needed.

Conduct fault finding, repair or replace items such as compensators, gaskets and seals.

Assist with planning plant preventative maintenance (PM) activities in SAP with the manufacturing operations team and executing agreed PM plan; ensure PM schedule adherence

Coordinate and execute shutdown activities.

Continuously improve a cost-effective spare parts system to support internal/external customer requirements.

Assist with larger scale plant expansion or overhaul projects that support increasing production volume.

Monitor and improve equipment failures with a thorough investigation and use of systematic problem-solving techniques to ensure root cause is found and eliminated.

Analyze equipment and operating data to baseline design parameters to enable deviation detection

Assist with quotation requests and purchase order packages for procurement of required maintenance items/projects.

Apply Lean Thinking with respective principles and tools to enable good practice sharing world-wide among the LignoTech manufacturing sites.

Develop and maintain personal cross-training matrix to promote personal development and improve flexibility within the Maintenance department.

Provide mentoring and assistance with technical training for maintenance related topics to respective work teams.

Assist Maintenance Supervisor directly with site contractors, projects or vacation coverage as needed, daily feedback to the Maintenance department on key plant issues especially within their responsibility.
