LignoTech Florida Electrical and Instrument Technician (E and I Tech) in Fernandina Beach, Florida

Description

The Electrical and Instrumentation Technician will test, calibrate, troubleshoot, overhaul and repair controlling, indicating, measuring instrumentation and electrical devices and equipment.It is the Electrical and Instrumentation Technicians responsibility to ensure safe specified operating performance using a variety of testing and calibration equipment. Must have the ability to read and understand manuals, blueprint schematic and testing specifications. Must have good computer skills and thorough knowledge of PIDs, Loop drawings, electrical schematics and PLCs.

Read and interpret work orders, technical descriptions, and safety manuals including NFPA 70E, NEC and ANSI.

Read blueprints, various types of schematics and loop drawings and prepare and enter job reports to computer systems.

Troubleshoot and loop check PLCs, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems using proper test equipment to repair or replace faulty components, such as sensors, relays, switches, motors, modules or fixtures.

Assemble and disassemble all types of electronic process controls, pneumatic controls and hydraulic systems and components.

Layout, fabricate, and install instrument, electrical and PLC components and cabinets.

Calibrate equipment using OEM calibration procedures.

Inspect and maintain switchgear, PLCs, transformers, buss bars, circuit breakers, and wiring connections in power distribution sub-stations.

Test continuity of circuits to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of

components using voltmeters, ohmmeters, meggers, etc.

Work with the principles and chemistry and physics required in instrumentation such as specific gravity, density of liquids and solids, mechanical advantages, proportions of liquids, melting points, freezing points, boiling points of liquids, etc.

Apply the procedures for measuring pressure level, flow, temperature, weight, density, heat flux, humidity and moisture, etc. when working with control loops

Assist in accomplishing plant maintenance work.

Maintain proper safety awareness and follow plant safety procedures in all plant activities.

Perform other duties as assigned or required by supervision.

Minimum Requirements:

3-5 years industrial electrical and instrument maintenance and repair experience, or equivalent.
