FAY BLOCK Materials PM Technician (Diesel Mechanic Technician) in Fayetteville, North Carolina
Description: PM Technician in the Fleet Mechanic Shopperforms entry level tasks, focusing on preventive maintenance, inspections, and basic repairs, while building skills through training and mentorship. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring that the fleet of diesel-powered vehicles and equipment operates efficiently, reliably, and safely. The PM technician will work closely with the Maintenance team to minimize downtime, extend the lifespan of vehicles, and ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities Complete PM services: oil and filter changes, fluid checks, grease, tire inspections/rotations, lights, belts, hoses, batteries. Adjust brakes, replace brake shoes/drums/rotors under supervision; inspect wheel ends. Perform basic electrical tasks (battery/charging tests, bulb replacement, simple wiring). Assist with DPF regens, coolant flushes, and component RandR under guidance. Maintain clean, safe work areas; properly handle cores, fluids, and waste per policy. Accurately complete checklists and work orders; follow SOPs and torque specifications. Participate in training (safety, tools, OEM web modules, ASE prep). Other Tasks as assigned
