Robert Half Payroll Clerk in Fayetteville, Arkansas

Description We are looking for a Payroll Clerk to join our team on a contract basis in Fayetteville, Arkansas. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring accurate payroll processing and benefits administration while maintaining compliance with labor laws and company policies. Responsibilities:

• Process weekly payroll for both hourly and salaried employees with precision and timeliness.

• Validate and review timekeeping data, including overtime, shift differentials, and production-based pay.

• Audit timecards for potential discrepancies such as attendance issues or missed punches and ensure compliance with policies.

• Maintain and update employee payroll records, including new hires, terminations, pay adjustments, and job transfers.

• Handle garnishments, child support orders, and tax levies with accuracy and attention to detail.

• Assist in reconciling payroll registers to the general ledger and support payroll-related journal entries.

• Prepare and analyze payroll reports, including weekly and month-end reporting requirements.

• Manage benefit bill reconciliations for medical, dental, vision, and other ancillary benefits.

• Coordinate with HR and benefits providers to ensure proper employee enrollments, terminations, and coverage changes.

• Address employee inquiries regarding payroll and deductions in a thorough and timely manner. Requirements • Proven experience in payroll processing, including full-cycle payroll for medium-sized teams.

• Knowledge of payroll systems and compliance with wage and hour laws.

• Strong ability to handle garnishments, tax levies, and benefits deductions.

• Proficiency in reconciling payroll data to accounting records and generating payroll reports.

• Familiarity with benefit administration, including enrollment and invoice reconciliation.

• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Excellent communication skills for responding to employee inquiries.

• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to company policies and labor regulations.
