With the creation of our new umbrella organization we now have our own identity with a unique payroll, benefits, performance management system, service recognition programs and other common practices across the system. _Position Summary:_ The Web Content Specialist is responsible for creating, maintaining, and optimizing engaging and effective content for Hartford HealthCare's (HHC) intranet and public-facing websites. This role ensures content aligns with HHC’s brand, strategic goals, and accessibility standards, contributing to a positive user experience and achieving key organizational objectives. The Web Content Specialist works collaboratively with various teams and occasionally provides oversight to external vendors to ensure quality and timeliness of deliverables. This is a hands-on role that requires a blend of technical expertise, creative writing skills, and a commitment to maintaining accurate and up-to-date information. _Position Responsibilities:_ Key Areas of Responsibility Content Creation and Curation:Develop and create engaging, informative, and accurate content (text, images, video) for the HHC intranet and public websites, adhering to brand guidelines and style standards. Curate existing content, ensuring relevance and accuracy. Website Content Updates and Maintenance:Regularly update and maintain website content using content management systems (CMS). Ensure content is accurate, up-to-date, and optimized for search engines and user experience. SEO Optimization and Performance Monitoring:Implement SEO best practices to improve content visibility and organic search rankings. Monitor website analytics to track content performance, identify areas for improvement, and recommend data-driven strategies. Collaboration and Communication:Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., marketing, communications, clinical teams) to understand content needs and develop effective solutions. Ensure timely communications on project status and issues. Accessibility and Usability:Ensure all web content is accessible and adheres to accessibility guidelines (e.g., WCAG). Focus on user-centered design principles to improve website navigation and overall user experience. Vendor Oversight:Provide oversight of external vendors to ensure quality and timeliness of deliverables. _Working Relationship:_ This Job Reports To (Job Title):Manager, Digital Strategy _Requirements and Specifications:_ Education · Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English, Computer Science, or a related field. · Preferred: Additional training or certifications in digital marketing, content strategy, or UX design. Experience · Minimum: o 3 years of experience in web content creation, management, and optimization. o Experience working with content management systems (CMS) such as WordPress, Drupal, or similar platforms. · Preferred o Experience in the healthcare industry. o Experience with responsive web design and mobile-first principles. Language Skills · Strong command of English language Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements * *Skills & Abilities: · Minimum: o Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a strong attention to detail. o Solid understanding of SEO principles and best practices. o Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and basic web design principles. o Experience with website analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics). o Knowledge of accessibility guidelines (WCAG). o Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills. o Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines. · Preferred o Familiarity with content personalization techniques. o Knowledge of video editing software. o Google Analytics certification. o Experience with project management tools. o Understanding of user research methodologies. o Ability to write and edit Spanish language.
