EmployerJay Shapiro & Associates, Inc.44-A Peapack RoadFar Hills, NJ 07931Position TitleProject EngineerJob DutiesPerform civil engineering functions supporting institutional building construction andrehabilitation projects, including projects associated with the New York City Housing Authority(NYCHA). Evaluate existing building conditions and interpret field conditions to determineappropriate engineering and construction solutions. Assess structural repair needs andenvironmental factors and apply civil engineering principles to develop safe, feasible, and code-compliant construction approaches for occupied residential buildings.Prepare and review project contract documents including scope of work, technical procedures,narratives, and construction bulletins. Coordinate with designers, contractors, and projectrepresentatives to ensure compliance with NYCHA standards, the NYC Building Code, andapplicable engineering specifications. Conduct technical design and constructability reviews ofcontract drawings, shop drawings, and construction submittals to verify compliance withengineering requirements and identify interdisciplinary conflicts.Analyze contractor-prepared construction schedules using Primavera P6 to evaluatesequencing, activity durations, and critical path impacts. Review Requests for Information (RFIs)and construction change orders for technical and engineering impact. Prepare engineeringanalysis reports and project status reports. Collect and analyze project data across multipleconstruction projects and support multidisciplinary coordination including structural,environmental, and mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) building systems.Minimum RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (orequivalent).Knowledge of construction engineering and management, construction project controls,construction regulations, and Primavera scheduling.Work Location44-A Peapack RoadFar Hills, NJ 07931Wage OfferedThe employer will pay at least $100,131 per year for the position.
