Pennsbury School District Security Person in Fallsington, Pennsylvania
Pennsbury School District will hold a hiring event on May 13th from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM at Charles Boehm Middle School located at 866 Big Oak Rd, Yardley, PA 19067.
The Security Person assists school leaders in maintaining a positive school climate and the safety in daily school operations. Maintain high visibility on school property to enforce school, local, and state rules/regulations; defend and protect school students, staff, and property.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Maintains a visible presence throughout the school building through regular surveillance and monitoring of the school building and grounds, including but not limited to the hallways, restrooms, cafeteria, bus dock, parking and adjacent areas, and other student gathering areas on a routine basis for the purpose of providing supervision, visibility, maintaining security, and deterring inappropriate behavior and crime.
- Patrols and monitors students on campus; observes patterns of behavior and student activities. Correct and/or report conditions and events that pose a threat to school safety.
- Assists the school leaders in establishing a school climate that promotes a positive learning environment for all students, good conduct, positive attitudes, and district values.
- Responds to all types of emergencies during the school day on school property, including fire, medical, and police matters.
- Assists with school safety drills as requested by the school leaders.
- Assists the administration with conducting investigations and doing searches of school property and students for illegal substances and weapons, as requested.
- Responds to bus accidents and accidents involving students of the district; assists in follow-up investigations that the district conducts.
- Transports students with disciplinary problems to ISS, office, home or other locations at the direction of the administration.
- Patrols school facilities (e.g. grounds, roads, buildings, parking lots, adjacent areas, etc.) and issues parking citations when needed; ensures that traffic patterns are followed on school property.
- Uses computer/technology skills in the performance of duties, such as use of the Internet, accessing databases, spreadsheet design, and creation of forms. Updates skills to ensure the ability to use technology and implement new practices and procedures as they are developed.
- Responds to nurses' requests for transporting students and/or medication to and from home to school, school to school, or school to home.
- Be prepared to make appropriate determinations, respond to situations quickly, and take appropriate action to resolve security issues.
- Maintains professional and positive interactions with students, colleagues, parents, and community; communicates effectively and respectfully with all stakeholders.
- Maintains confidentiality with information, including student, personnel and other school information.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Performs in accordance with school policy, administrative regulations, state and federal laws.
