Pennsbury School District School Aide - Elementary School in Fallsington, Pennsylvania
Pennsbury School District will hold a hiring event on May 13th from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM at Charles Boehm Middle School located at 866 Big Oak Rd, Yardley, PA 19067.
The School Aide - Elementary, under the direction of a teacher, instructs students and assists in the presentation of curriculum; provides supplemental one-on-one or group instruction.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Assists students with classroom instruction and instructional activities.
- Monitors and assists children in the halls, lunchrooms, playgrounds and auditoriums as assigned to ensure safety and security of the students.
- Provides on-going assistance to students in the classroom that require supplemental instruction.
- Provides one-on-one and/or group instruction in areas including, but not limited to, literary centers, guided reading, writing.
- Participates in testing students in academic areas; assists with grading papers.
- Assists in the preparation of the classroom for activities.
- Assists in the preparation and filing of student materials; maintains students' progress folders.
- Assists teachers designated for special areas including but not limited to library, computer rooms, and art; assists students with their designated activities.
- Assists with developing and reinforcing daily living and behavioral skills and shadow individual students who have conflicts in order to avert behavioral situations with others.
- Attends to students' health, hygiene and safety needs and provides aid and assistance to students in an emergency, including but not limited to choking, illness, fear and bullying.
- Enters and updates student information in applicable computer programs.
- Escorts children to various areas of the school campus including preparing and maintaining a safe and respectful departure of buses and maintains current information of changes to buses.
- Ensures that students who are out of class have appropriate passes; be aware of special events such as picture day, school prom, and other events.
- Uses computer/technology skills in performance of duties, such as use of the Internet, accessing databases, spreadsheet design, and creation of forms. Updates skills to ensure ability to use technology and implement new practices and procedures as they are developed.
- Maintains professional and positive interactions with colleagues, parents, staff and community; communicates effectively and respectfully with all stakeholders.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Principal.
Performs in accordance with school policy, administrative regulations, state and federal laws.
