Job Description
The Electromechanical Technician will support the custom build, assembly, and testing of prototype and low‑volume radar and electronic systems in a highly hands‑on, engineering‑driven environment. This role focuses on non‑repetitive, custom work rather than production line tasks and requires strong electromechanical troubleshooting skills, precision assembly capabilities, and proficient soldering. The technician will work closely with engineering teams to interpret schematics and technical drawings, adapt to frequent design changes, and ensure high‑quality, reliable builds.
Responsibilities
Build, assemble, and test custom prototype and low‑volume radar and electronic systems according to engineering specifications.
Perform detailed electromechanical assembly, including mechanical and electronic assembly, cable and harness builds, and wiring of control boxes and DC systems.
Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings to complete accurate assemblies and installations.
Troubleshoot and repair electromechanical systems, including low‑voltage and DC systems, using appropriate tools and test equipment.
Perform preventive maintenance and repair activities on assemblies and equipment as needed to ensure reliability and performance.
Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for mechanical assembly, installation, and repair tasks.
Conduct soldering work on electronic components, wiring, and assemblies in accordance with quality standards.
Document work performed, including build steps, test results, and any modifications, with strong attention to detail.
Work efficiently in a fast‑paced, engineering‑driven environment with frequent design changes and shifting priorities.
Collaborate with a small team of technicians and engineers to resolve issues, improve build processes, and support ongoing projects.
Utilize ERP systems to track work orders, materials, and project status as required.
Essential Skills
2–6 years of experience as an electromechanical or electronics technician.
3–6 years of hands‑on electromechanical technician experience supporting assembly and troubleshooting tasks.
Strong experience with custom assembly and prototype work, including non‑repetitive builds.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings.
Hands‑on experience with DC systems, control boxes, and low‑voltage troubleshooting.
Experience building and assembling cables and harnesses.
Proficiency in mechanical and electrical assembly, including the use of hand tools and power tools.
Demonstrated troubleshooting experience on electromechanical systems and components.
Soldering skills for electronic assembly and wiring work.
Experience with electronic assembly, installation, and repair.
Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment with changing priorities.
Experience using ERP systems for tracking work orders, materials, or production data.
Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with radar, RF, aerospace, or defense‑related systems.
Experience using test equipment such as multimeters, power supplies, and related diagnostic tools.
Experience in preventive maintenance and maintenance technician duties.
Familiarity with troubleshooting and repair of complex electromechanical systems.
Comfort working on small teams and collaborating closely with engineering staff.

Work Environment
The role is based in a very clean, controlled work environment similar to a cleanroom, with a dedicated room where all builds are assembled, repaired, and troubleshot. You will work on a smaller team of approximately 21 technicians, fostering close collaboration and knowledge sharing. Standard hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, providing a consistent daytime schedule. Work is highly hands‑on, using a range of hand tools, power tools, soldering equipment, and electronic test instruments within an engineering‑driven setting focused on custom, non‑repetitive builds.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fall River, MA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $36.00/hr.
