About CIP Retail

Position summary

The Purchasing Specialist is a key driver of our operational success. In this role, you'll own the full procurement cycle --- building vendor relationships, keeping our supply chain running smoothly, and ensuring our production teams always have what they need, when they need it. You'll also play an important role as we implement a new ERP system, helping to establish clean data and efficient processes from the ground up.

If you're someone who thrives on finding cost-effective solutions and keeping complex operations running like clockwork, this is a high-impact opportunity to shape how we buy and manage materials.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage vendor and supplier relationships to ensure quality materials and on-time deliveries.
  • Issue purchase orders, verify pricing, and confirm delivery commitments.
  • Monitor stock levels and reorder raw materials to prevent shortages or overstock situations.
  • Resolve issues related to product quality, pricing discrepancies, and delivery delays.
  • Stay current on new products, market trends, and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Coordinate with production teams to ensure materials are available when needed.
  • Conduct cycle counts and physical inventory audits to maintain stock accuracy.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
  • Generate inventory reports and metrics; present findings to management on a regular cadence.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records during and after ERP system implementation.
  • Support logistics coordination for an upcoming product storage transition back to our Fairfield facility.
  • Assist with shipping and receiving processes and ensure proper documentation.
  • Oversee the organization of storage areas for efficiency and accessibility.
