GovCIO Senior Windows Systems Administrator in Fairfax, Virginia

Overview

GovCIO is currently hiring for a Senior Windows Systems Administrator with an active Secret clearance toprovide direct customer support and serve as an internal escalation point for Government NOC team.This position will be located in Merrifield, VA and will be a hybrid position.

Responsibilities

Works in the NOC to provide direct customer support and serve as an internal escalation point for services to include:

  • Manage and maintain Active Directory user accounts, groups, and organizational units.

  • Configure and troubleshoot Group Policies.

  • Administer DHCP, DNS, and file/directory permissions, Utilize PowerShell for automation, reporting, and system management.

  • Manage folder and file share permissions following least‑privilege principles.

  • Perform data migrations and backups using Robocopy and related tools.

  • Manage VMware hosts and virtual machines.

  • Perform drive expansions, resource adjustments, and VM lifecycle tasks.

  • Configure and maintain server autostart and failover behaviors.

  • Monitor and manage Dell server hardware using OpenManage.

  • Configure and troubleshoot iDRAC for remote management and diagnostics.

  • Work directly with users, vendors, and internal teams.

  • Must be comfortable using the phone to communicate clearly and professionally.

  • Document procedures, changes, and troubleshooting steps.

Qualifications

High School with 9+ years of Windows systems administration (or commensurate experience)

Required Skills and Experience

  • Clearance Required: Active Secret with the ability to obtain and hold DEA suitability.

Posted Pay Range

The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Posted Salary Range

USD $115,000.00 - USD $135,000.00 /Yr.
