The job description for a Before and After School Adaptive Care Specialist typically includes the following responsibilities and qualifications:
Responsibilities :
Provide adaptive care and support to children with disabilities during school hours and after school.
Assist with homework and educational activities tailored to individual needs.
Facilitate engaging and inclusive activities that promote social, emotional, and physical development.
Maintain communication with parents and caregivers regarding children's progress and any concerns.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized facility.
Participate in regular assessments of children's development and adjust programs as needed.
Collaborate with school personnel and community resources to provide additional support and enrichment opportunities.

Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalent.
A degree in early childhood education or child development is preferred.
2+ years of experience in a daycare or educational setting, with a focus on before and after school programs.
Strong understanding of child development principles and best practices in adaptive care.
Ability to create a warm and welcoming environment that encourages children's exploration and creativity.
This role is essential for fostering a supportive and enriching environment for children with disabilities, ensuring their well-being and development through structured activities and supervision.
Full Time Hours: 7AM-6PM Monday-Friday
Pay: $25/hour
Through the end of the school year with summer school/camp hours available
Behavioral/School experience is preferred (RBT/BT or Teacher Assistant)
