Interior Weatherization, Inc. Weatherization Technician in Fairbanks, Alaska
Position Purpose
Under general supervision, perform tasks to complete energy, structural and health/safety upgrades to residential dwellings. Complete tasks as assigned by the Lead Technician.
Essential Functions and Basic Duties

Install insulation in attics, walls, basements and crawlspaces
q
Repair/replace windows and doors
q
Repair/replace roofs and venting
q
Provide good work environment for crew
q
Complete clean-up tasks and dispose of replaced materials
q
Travel as required for both completing work and training

Qualifications
Experience:
Residential construction experience preferred but not required
Required Knowledge:
Construction knowledge in cold climates of residential dwellings
Education:
High school graduate or equivalent preferred
Skills/Abilities:
- Able to provide own carpentry tools
- Attentive to detail and accurate
- Cooperative and willing to assist others
- Ability to wear respirator
- Ability to work in attics, crawlspaces and confined spaces
- Able to lift heavy loads (50 pounds)
- Able to relate to low-income, disabled or senior clients
- Valid drivers license (comply with IWI insurance)
- Ability to work in harsh environments (cold, dirty, hot, dusty, etc)
Work Conditions
Work is performed in office and home setting. Work may be performed outdoors in all weather conditions, typically in an environment similar to a construction site. Frequently work in confined spaces, such as beneath floors, in attics and crawl spaces. May require working on rooftops and other potential hazardous areas, such as around electrical wiring. May be exposed to dusty, wet, muddy, poorly ventilated and occasionally unsanitary environments. Requires occasional overnight stays and driving in adverse weather conditions. Occasionally exposed to outside seasonal weather conditions.
