Play n Learn dba Thrivalaska Head Start Teacher Assistant in Fairbanks, Alaska
Position Summary:
To provide a successful, safe and supervised educational setting for children while they are in the Head Start environment (classroom, outdoor play area, and field trips). To promote the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development of Head Start children. Encourage parent involvement in all aspects of the program. To develop individual goals for children, provide on-going assessment on progress and facilitate transition into kindergarten.
Minimum Requirements
:
1.
Demonstrated classroom ability, typically 1 year, full-time pre-school classroom experience or equivalent.
2.
Willing to enroll in a program leading to an Associates Degree.
3.
Or willing to enroll in a Preschool Child Development Associate (CDA) credential program to be completed within 2 years.
Preferred Requirements
:
- Head Start teaching experience
- Preschool CDA or related educational coursework in Early Childhood Education/Development typically achieved via progress towards an Associate Degree in ECE or CDA. Diploma and transcripts will be required to validate degree.
