QC Supervisor – Second Shift

Location/Division Specific Information
This position is within the Laboratory Chemicals Division (LCD) business unit of Thermo Fisher
Scientific reporting to the Bridgewater, NJ site.
How will you make an impact?
The QC Supervisor will have direct supervision of QC Scientists / Engineers according to established
policies and under management guidance. Review product batch records to disposition
intermediates, and/or finished goods. Administer company policies that directly affect QC
personnel. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; resource planning,
assigning and directing work; appraising performance and disciplining employees.
What will you do?
- Lead and coordinate the activities of the QC team and directly provide guidance to the QC
Scientists / Engineers to achieve site goals, and to complete assignments and projects, as well as
adhere to production schedules.
Conduct routine analysis of samples according to approved procedures.
Segregate, label and dispose of waste chemicals in accordance with company, local, state
and federal regulations and assist in reducing waste.
Review documentation in order to support compliance and quality requirements.
Assist in continuously updating standard operating procedures.
Perform and support investigations for out of specification failures, nonconformance
reports, and CAPAs.
Provide for the continual development and training of QC Scientists / Engineers.
Support continuous improvement activities. (Knowledge and experience of Lean Six Sigma
Process is a plus.)
- Perform other duties to support the needs of the department as assigned by the QC
Manager.
How will you get here?
Education
- Minimum BS/BA in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related subject is required.
Experience
Direct supervisory experience strongly preferred.
5 years of Quality Assurance/Quality Control experience with undergraduate degree; or 3
years’ experience with an advanced degree or equivalent work experience.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Strong organizational skills to be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and the
ability to appropriately prioritize tasks.
Ability to follow written and verbal directions with a high level of accuracy.
Must be able to write clear, understandable documentation.
High level of verbal communication skills, and functional leadership skills.
Strong word processing and spreadsheet software skills.
High level of reading comprehension skills.
Strong command of Quality System Regulations and ISO.
Skilled at analyzing data, summarizing results, and generating performance metrics to drive
corrective actions.
Strong math skills including calculation of concentrations and dilutions.
Strong troubleshooting skills.

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in New Jersey is $90,900.00–$136,350.00.
