GENERAL FUNCTION This position provides unsurpassed patient experiences through selection of eyewear, accurate measurements, ordering, and fitting the patient to fulfill all of their eyewear needs. This role supports establishing the practice as the premier destination for all vision needs within the community. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Assists the patient in selecting frames and lenses that are best suited for their vision, lifestyle and budgetary needs. Suggests improvements and recommends solutions to problems. Assists peers with difficult and complex areas of customer product needs and prescriptions. Anticipates problems before they occur; explores underlying reasons for recurring problems; goes beyond symptoms to get at causes; strives to develop long-term solutions to problems. Shows patience and courtesy; tracks down answers to unfamiliar questions or products. Handles tasks, such as taking and recording measurements, adjusting or fitting eyewear carefully and correctly, is thorough and exact in details. Ensures finished eyewear meets Company optical standards and patient requirements and requests. Takes ownership to achieve individual and practice results. Serves as a role model for development and a technical resource for all. Operates the point-of-sale system, inputting patient information with accuracy and attention to detail. When required, creates and tenders sales transactions, following operational processes and standards. Explains expected delivery times of eyewear orders. Maintains safe working environment for all peers and patients. Works weekends and evenings in support of the business needs (varies by location). Adheres to attendance and daily time keeping requirements. Adheres to all company policies and procedures. Consistently maintains proper dress code. Performs other functions as assigned by Practice Manager or as business needs. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS High school graduate or equivalent Strong customer service skills: communicator, listener and team builder Knowledge of current optical theory and merchandise Strong basic math skills Sales and service skills Familiarity with technology, such as point-of-sale, patient record systems, or other software applications Embraces new technology and change PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Actively working on ABO Certification in non-lice
