Actalent Flight Controls Engineer in Everett, Washington

(Job Description)

A large Aerospace company located in Everett, WA is currently hiring for a Flight Controls Engineer. This role is ideal for an accomplished, self-motivated engineer who is passionate about designing, analyzing, testing, and certifying flight control systems for large commercial aircraft. In this role, you will contribute across the full lifecycle of flight control systems, from requirements definition through certification and fleet support.

Base Pay - $70/hr. - $80/hr.

Location - Everett, WA (100% Onsite)

Schedule - 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM PST; Monday - Friday (40 Hours a Week)

(Responsibilities)

  • Design, analyze, test, and certify flight control systems and components for large commercial aircraft.

  • Decompose airplane‑level requirements into system and component‑level requirements.

  • Define, document, and manage system‑level requirements supporting flight control, mission, and trajectory needs.

  • Lead or support system safety and certification activities, including:

  • System Safety Analysis

  • Failure Modes & Effects Analysis (FMEA)

  • Fault Tree Analysis (FTA)

  • Ensure traceability to regulatory requirements and resolve regulatory or requirement conflicts.

  • Perform and document Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) analysis and system validation.

  • Lead or participate in verification and validation efforts, including:

  • Test monitoring and analysis

  • Test report authoring and supplier test review

  • Test failure analysis and mitigation

  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with teams including avionics, aerodynamics, airplane safety, software, pilot/crew operations, suppliers, airline customers, and regulatory agencies.

  • Develop solutions and dispositions to ensure customer satisfaction.

(Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Electrical, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering.

  • 5-7+ years of experience working with flight control systems (must have; please indicate clearly on resume).

  • Strong knowledge/experience in flight control engineering.

  • Comfortable working 100% onsite in Everett, WA.

  • (Preferred) Experience with system safety analysis including: 1) FMEA (Failure Modes & Effects Analysis), 2) Fault Tree Analysis, 3) Common Cause Analysis, and Single and Multiple Failure Analysis.

  • (Preferred) Experience using IBM Rational DOORS or similar requirements management tools.

  • (Preferred) Experience working with regulated, certified, safety-critical systems and software.

  • Comfortable submitting to a drug test (includes THC testing) upon offer.

This is a Contract position based out of Everett, WA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $70.00 - $80.00/hr.
