Job Title: Flight Controls Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Flight Control Systems Integration and Safety Engineer to join our team. This role will be fully onsite and involves the design, analysis, testing, and certification of flight control systems and components for large commercial aircraft. The position requires collaboration across multiple disciplines and plays a key role in supporting production and fleet operations.
Responsibilities
Decompose airplane level requirements into system level requirements and further into component requirements.
Lead and participate in system component and detail certification efforts, including the creation of required certification artifacts such as system safety analysis, failure modes and effects analysis, and fault tree analysis.
Gather, define, and document system level requirements to support flight control and mission or trajectory requirements definition.
Resolve requirement conflicts and perform design and analysis of Guidance Navigation and Control systems.
Lead system level and component level validation analysis and testing, including test monitoring, analysis, and report authoring.
Coordinate cross-functionally with avionics, pilot/crew operations, airplane safety, aerodynamics, BCA systems, software suppliers, airline customers, and regulatory agencies.
Develop solutions and address issues to ensure customer satisfaction.
Essential Skills
Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering.
5-7 years of technical experience working with Flight Controls.
Experience in System Safety Analysis including failure modes and effects analysis, fault tree analysis, and common cause analysis.
Knowledge of ARP 4754 and ARP 4761.
Experience with flight controls system and component architecture.
Proficiency in requirements development, design analysis, and verification validation of flight control systems.
Experience using requirement management tools such as IBM Rational DOORS.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry from an accredited course of study. ABET accreditation is preferred.
Experience with manufacturing regulated and certified safety-critical components and software.
Work Environment
This position requires working 100% onsite, involving collaboration across various teams and disciplines. The work environment includes the use of sophisticated technology and software tools such as IBM Rational DOORS. The role involves ensuring compliance with Export Control requirements, therefore, applicants must be a US Person as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $70.00 - $80.00/hr.
