Job Summary
Under general supervision, this position provides project management support for capital and Operations & Maintenance (O&M) projects within CenterPoint Energy’s Power Supply organization. The role partners closely with power plant operations, strategic sourcing, engineering, construction, maintenance teams, external consultants, and suppliers to ensure projects are planned, executed, and delivered safely, on time, and within budget. The incumbent gathers, analyzes, and manages project data to develop and maintain schedules, cost estimates, material tracking, and status reports. Participation in after-hours emergency response may be required.
Essential Functions
Provide project management support for capital and Operations & Maintenance (O&M) projects within the Power Supply organization under general supervision.
Partner with power plant operations, engineering, construction, maintenance, strategic sourcing, external consultants, and suppliers to plan and execute projects.
Develop, maintain, and update project schedules, cost estimates, forecasts, and status reports for assigned projects.
Monitor project progress against schedules and budgets, identifying risks and recommending adjustments as needed.
Track purchase orders, material delivery dates, and contracted labor for inclusion in project schedules.
Update monthly cost and labor projections and provide accurate project status updates to stakeholders.
Create, open, and enter project completion notices in PowerPlant to support required approvals from Engineering and Plant Accounting.
Review engineering designs, technology solutions, and construction plans to support effective project execution.
Coordinate planned outages with Operations to facilitate project installation while minimizing operational impact.
Lead coordination efforts related to engineering activities, technology selection, and construction execution on plant projects.

Oversee maintenance and capital improvement activities for unit boilers and other assigned equipment to support reliable operation.
Promote safety, health, and environmental awareness and communicate requirements through appropriate organizational channels.
Participate in after-hours emergency response activities as required.
Work overtime, holidays, and weekends as needed to meet project and operational requirements.
Education Description
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
Experience
Experience supporting or managing capital and/or O&M projects in an industrial, power generation, or utility environment.
Experience with project scheduling, cost estimating, budget tracking, and contractor coordination.
