In this role, you’ll collaborate with brilliant minds and contribute to high-profile industrial and mining projects across Canada and globally, from early studies through to execution and closure.

Our Resources subsector, a key part of WSP’s Energy, Resources & Industry (ERI) sector, delivers services that span engineering studies, project management, detailed design, procurement, site management, commissioning and industrial programming for industrial and mining clients coast to coast. As a Process Engineer based in our GTA offices in Ontario , you’ll support the process discipline on projects ranging from conceptual and feasibility studies to detailed engineering for large, complex EPCM projects,.

Your Impact

  • Design and optimize process systems for industrial, manufacturing, or environmental applications.

  • Conduct mass and energy balances, process modelling, and equipment sizing to support concept and detailed design.

  • Develop PFDs, P&IDs, process specifications, and technical documentation to support project execution.

  • Collaborate closely with mechanical, electrical, environmental, and project management teams on integrated project delivery.

  • Support hazard assessments, operability reviews, and compliance evaluations under applicable codes and regulations.

  • Evaluate new and existing technologies to improve process efficiency, operability, sustainability, and cost‑effectiveness.

  • Contribute to proposal development, technical memos, and client presentations.

  • Support commissioning, troubleshooting, and performance testing during project implementation.

The Skills That Set You Apart

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related discipline.

  • Current P.Eng. in Ontario or near completion.

  • 5 to 10 years of experience in process design within heavy industrial or mining sectors.

  • Strong ability to develop process simulations (e.g., Aspen, HYSYS, or equivalent).

  • Experience preparing PFDs, P&IDs, equipment specifications, and engineering calculations.

  • Familiarity with safety lifecycle methodologies (HAZOP, LOPA, risk assessments).

  • A passion for solving complex process challenges and delivering practical, real‑world solutions.

  • Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary project teams.

Compensation

AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $98,800 – $130,800

MB & ON: $90,100 – $124,100

NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $89,200 – $118,500
