At the UL Solutions Benchmarks team, we create the industry's most trusted and widely used benchmarks for desktop computers, notebooks, tablets and smartphones. Our flagship products include 3DMark, the Procyon Benchmarking suite, and PCMark 10.
We are looking for a Senior Full-Stack Software Developer with a backend-heavy skillset to support our web and database solutions. Our development culture values innovation and personal initiative.
We co-operate with many of the key players in the tech industry , and our benchmarks are widely used by press and our products are prominently showcased in the world’s most influential technology demonstrations like CES and Computex.
We work closely with major players in the technology industry and their cutting-edge technologies during our development processes. Our benchmarks feature in hardware reviews from globally recognized press outlets, and are prominently showcased in keynotes at the world’s most influential technology conferences like CES and Computex.
You will be working with a team of passionate and highly skilled engineers that take pride in developing high-quality software. People are here very determined to deliver accurate measurements for our benchmarks. We offer a hybrid work arrangement, combining remote work with 2–3 days per week in our Espoo office.
In this role, you will not only take ownership of backend services but also lead the evolution of our platforms as we modernize and expand.
Maintain our web service offerings.
Help us design and build our new customer portal for Enterprise use.
Build scalable services that are used by millions of people around the world.
Build beautiful user experiences across a multitude of platforms in products used by some of the world's largest companies.
Participate in development of benchmarks that help guide the next generation of computing hardware.
Positions are available at both junior and senior levels. Relevant experience is important, but we are good at recognizing talent in those who are starting their career.
Required
Working knowledge of backend technologies - Java or other JVM languages
Experience with SQL databases (Relational and NoSQL)
Experience with cloud platforms, AWS, GCP or Azure.
Knowledge of RESTful APIs
Standard HTML, CSS and Javascript knowledge
Enthusiastic attitude to technology and software development.
Good written and spoken English.
Ideal
Enjoy owning backend systems from database to deployment
Knowledge of building reliable, scalable and optimized solutions
A drive to work on all aspects of an application’s life cycle, from back-end to front-end, and deployment.
Preferred
B.Sc. in Computer Science or a related field.
Care about clean architecture and long-term maintainability
An interest in the latest PC and mobile hardware is a plus.
