About the Opportunity The position directly supervises, coaches, and assists Regional Distribution System Operations personnel involved in the daily real-time operation at Erie's Distribution Control Center located in Erie, PA. Responsibilities include: Maintaining a high level of safety commitment throughout day-to-day functions. Supervising activities including the direction of field crews in the operation and maintenance of the electrical distribution system. Ensuring compliance with appropriate policies and procedures for real-time dispatch operations. Supervising real-time utilization of Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), Distribution Management System (DMS), contingency analysis and system analysis resources for assessing system conditions. Conducting mid-year and year-end performance reviews with employees. Executing the performance management process by providing feedback and coaching on an ongoing basis throughout the year and discussing development opportunities, performance issues, and changes that are occurring. Initiating, conducting, and providing expert and timely assistance to investigate reliability, safety conditions, and incidents; this involves interacting with other areas in Energy Delivery, FirstEnergy regional operations, transmission operations, and neighboring utility regions. Developing contingency plans for prioritizing the restoration of service. Assisting in or developing emergency plans for storm-related interruptions, equipment failures, or labor unrest. Supervising the maintenance of operating documentation, record keeping, and operator shift schedule. Participating in operational and other meetings at the General Office. May be required to work weekends or extended days.
