Nexstar Media Group Digital Producer in Erie, Pennsylvania
The Digital Producer brings WJET/WFXP’s outstanding news coverage to a digital audience. An active member of a multi-platform newsroom, the Digital Producer creates original content beyond that which is produced on air. Additionally, the Digital Producer further supports the station brand by greeting news and sales guests, answering viewer phone calls and performing ad hoc clerical duties as needed.
Writes stores for the web and other digital platforms
Reviews copy and will correct errors in content, grammar, and punctuation, following prescribed editorial style and formatting guidelines
Use our Social Media and Website to build and reinforce brand recognition and drive viewers to television
Research and analyze background information related to news stories in order to be able to provide complete and accurate information
Pitches on-brand local and trending stories during morning meetings
Greets and provides customer service to visitors
Answers and routes telephone calls
Takes phone messages for other personnel
Accepts packages from couriers and prepares packages for shipment
Performs clerical functions as needed
Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements & Skills :
Degree in journalism; daily newspaper or news site experience required; live, working web samples and/or print pages preferred
Proficiency in Associated Press style, Adobe Photoshop, Dreamweaver, and Basic HTML preferred
CSS, Flash and other relevant technology skills is a plus
Maintain positive work environment through active team participation and cooperation with co-workers in all departments
Responds positively to feedback
Fluency in English
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipment
