Amazon Occupational Health Program Manager in Erding, Germany
Description
Join our Global Medical and Health (GMH) Team within Workplace Health & Safety, to drive occupational health excellence within Amazon's operations. As an "Occupational Health Program Manager", you will be responsible fordesigning, implementing, and managing occupational health programs and compliance frameworks, ensuring alignment with global standards and local regulations while working closely with regional leadership to support employee health and well-being.
This role is based fully onsite [at an Amazon site in Germany], with the majority of working time (80–90%) spent on office-based activities centered on program management, compliance tracking, and cross-functional stakeholder coordination. The focus is on designing standards and frameworks, not delivering health workshops or organizing health days.
While familiarity with occupational health regulations is an advantage, strong program management fundamentals are the primary requirement — regulatory frameworks (ArbSchG, ASiG, DGUV) can be learned on the job.
This role can be based onsite at any Amazon site in Germany and location can be discussed.
Key job responsibilities
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislation changes affecting workplace health and ensure compliance with Amazon's policies and local health, safety, and medical regulations (e.g. ArbSchG, ASiG, DGUV)
Design and maintain compliance frameworks, standards, and procedures that ensure regulatory alignment across Amazon's operations network; manage one or more programs simultaneously with limited guidance
Define, monitor, and report health-related metrics to GMH Leadership to measure program success, identify areas for improvement, and inform health strategies; build compliance tracking systems and dashboards to support data-driven decision-making
Support the proactive identification, assessment, and mitigation of workplace health risks including physical and psycho-social factors to safeguard employee well-being
Provide subject matter expertise on Occupational Health Programs, offering guidance to stakeholders and liaising with local authorities and occupational health bodies
Implement and manage comprehensive occupational health services and programs within assigned areas of responsibility, including vendor management, emergency response protocols, and preventive measures
Manage cross-functional stakeholder relationships — influence without direct authority, build consensus across different perspectives, and translate complex regulatory requirements into practical implementation plans
A day in the life
As part of the Global Medical and Health Team, you will work on the implementation and ongoing enhancement of occupational health programs across our operations network. A typical day might include: analyzing regulatory changes, designing compliance tracking systems, preparing metrics for leadership review, coordinating with vendors, or conducting site visits to ensure program implementation. It is a mix of strategic planning, stakeholder management, and tactical execution — ensuring our occupational health programs meet both Amazon standards and local regulations.
You will manage projects with limited guidance: identifying needs, designing solutions, building stakeholder consensus, coordinating implementation, and measuring success. Your deliverables will include standard operating procedures (SOPs), implementation playbooks, compliance tracking mechanisms, and leadership reports with metrics and recommendations. You will conduct site visits for program audits and implementation support (approx. 10–20% of time).
