Job Title: Field Technician

Job Description

The Field Technician installs precast concrete wall systems at new construction sites, working with a crew to prepare materials, set walls, seal joints, and ensure a clean and safe work area. This role starts each day at the shop, involves travel with the crew to various job sites, and requires hands-on work in an outdoor construction environment.

Responsibilities

  • Arrive at the shop each morning at approximately 5:30 a.m. to meet with the crew and prepare for the workday.

  • Assist with loading and organizing all tools, materials, and equipment needed for daily installation work.

  • Travel with the crew and foreman from the shop to assigned job sites, with travel time compensated.

  • Help prepare the installation area by moving, shoveling, and leveling materials as needed.

  • Support the placement and setting of precast concrete walls according to project specifications.

  • Use a caulk gun to seal wall joints and corners to ensure proper weatherproofing and structural integrity.

  • Tighten bolts and hardware using wrenches and other hand tools to secure wall panels in place.

  • Check walls for correct level and plumb, making adjustments as directed to meet quality standards.

  • Assist with general site cleanup, including removing debris and trash to maintain a safe and organized work area.

  • Follow all safety procedures and use tools and equipment properly to reduce risk of injury.

  • Collaborate with the foreman and crew members to complete installations efficiently and on schedule.

Essential Skills

  • Ability to perform general labor tasks in a construction, concrete, or landscaping environment.

  • Capability to lift, push, and pull up to 20 pounds frequently throughout the workday.

  • Comfort with constant standing, walking, bending, climbing, kneeling, and twisting while on the job.

  • Proficiency in reading and using a tape measure accurately and consistently.

  • Experience using basic hand tools such as wrenches, caulk guns, and related equipment.

  • Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions on new construction sites.

  • Reliability to arrive early and work full shifts as part of a field installation crew.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous experience in construction, concrete work, general labor, or landscaping.

  • Familiarity with new construction environments and job site safety practices.

  • Ability to follow directions from a foreman and work effectively as part of a crew.

  • Strong work ethic and readiness to take on physically demanding tasks.

Work Environment

This role is based in a field installation crew that works on new construction builds. You start each day at the shop early in the morning to prepare and then travel with the foreman and crew to outdoor job sites. The work takes place in an open-air environment that can be hot in the summer and cold in the winter, with exposure to typical construction site conditions. You regularly use hand tools such as wrenches, caulk guns, and tape measures, and spend most of the day on your feet performing physical tasks such as lifting, shoveling, bending, and climbing.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ephrata, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr.
