JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Title: Dockmaster - Harbor Assistant Position: Part-Time Seasonal May 23 Oct 15. Flexible part-time Summer and early Fall hours and weekends. Schedule: Weekends schedules required during peak summer season (June-July-August). Rotating shifts and days-off on weekdays. Reports To: Harbormaster (Marina Manager). In-Directly to EYH President and Operations Team (Joshua Kahn). General Position Summary The Dockmaster provides seasonal support to ensure smooth daily operations of Ephraim Yacht Harbor (EYH), a private marina. Reporting to the Harbormaster, this role focuses on assisting boaters, maintaining marina facilities, pumping gas/diesel, pumping-out boat\'s holding tanks, sales of ice and merchandise, and delivering excellent customer service. Dockmasters play a key part in creating a positive harbor experience for all slip holders, transient boaters, and visitors. This is a great summer job for ages 16 -23, usually filled by high-school and college aged adults, and some retired individuals. This work is outside, customer focused, and in a great environment. Key Responsibilities Customer Service Assist boaters with docking, lines, and power connections. Greet customers and visitors in a professional, friendly manner. Help boaters load and unload personal items upon arrival or departure. Listen and react to customers\' reasonable needs and provide information as needed, or direct customers to the Harbormaster Other duties as assigned. Operations & Facility Support Perform daily cleaning of docks, restrooms, common areas, and harbor grounds. Handle routine tasks such as garbage removal, sweeping, and light landscaping. Assist with fueling boats under supervision and in accordance with safety procedures. Operate marina equipment (e.g., golf carts, maintenance tools, pump-out cart) when trained and authorized. Report any safety hazards, equipment issues, or customer concerns promptly to the Harbormaster (Marina Manager). Teamwork Work collaboratively with other dockhands and staff to support smooth operations. Follow direction from the Harbormaster and assist with hands-on tasks as needed. Contribute to a safe, respectful, and customer-focused workplace. ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Qualifications Sought (But not required) Prior marina experience, boating operations & skills. Positive personality, friendly and accommodating tog server our customers with their needs with strong customer service skills. Ability to work with other Dockmasters and staff side-by-side, willing to learn from training to expand their knowledge. Appropriate knowledge to maintain records in Microsoft Excel, Word, and other standard software programs. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays during the prime boating season (JuneAugust). Availability for flexible hours during spring setup (May) and fall close-up (September on weekends, if available).
