The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our organization's supply chain. This role involves coordinating the procurement of materials, supplies, and equipment needed for various departments while maintaining cost-effectiveness and quality standards. The coordinator will collaborate closely with suppliers to negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules, optimizing inventory levels and minimizing lead times. Additionally, the role entails ensuring timely and accurate delivery of goods to the designated locations. The Logistics Coordinator must possess excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities to facilitate seamless coordination between internal teams and external partners, ultimately contributing to the overall success of our supply chain management efforts.
Responsibilities
Procurement Management:
- Identify procurement needs across departments.
- Source suppliers, negotiate prices, and place purchase orders.
- Ensure timely acquisition of materials, supplies, and equipment.
Supplier Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain positive supplier relationships.
- Conduct performance evaluations and address issues promptly.
Inventory Control:
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment.
- Prevent overstocking or stockouts for optimal stock levels.
Logistics Coordination:
- Oversee movement of goods, coordinate transportation, and track shipments.
- Manage customs and regulatory compliance for international shipments.
Delivery and Distribution:
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery to designated locations.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external partners for smooth operations.
Cost Management:
- Track and manage procurement and logistics expenses.
- Ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
Documentation and Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate records of procurement transactions and contracts.
- Organize invoices and other relevant documentation.
Process Improvement:
- Continuously evaluate and enhance procurement and logistics processes.
- Aim to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
Communication and Collaboration:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align activities with organizational goals.
- Ensure effective communication across departments.
