Job Title: Electrical Engineer II – Wire Harness Design (E3)Job Description

This role focuses on the design and development of electrical wire harnesses for aircraft and military platforms using E3. The Electrical Engineer II collaborates closely with electrical engineering, manufacturing, and systems teams to create production-ready harness designs in a regulated aerospace environment. This position is well-suited for a hands-on designer who is ready to take ownership of moderately complex designs and contribute across multiple phases of the product lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop electrical wire harnesses for aircraft and military platforms using E3 design tools.

  • Collaborate with electrical engineering, manufacturing, and systems teams to produce production-ready harness designs.

  • Create and maintain accurate electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and drafting documentation to support harness manufacturing and installation.

  • Integrate electrical components and harnesses with original equipment manufacturer (OEM) aircraft systems and subsystems.

  • Interpret and apply OEM aircraft wiring diagrams to ensure proper connectivity, routing, and system functionality.

  • Support the design and modification of wide-body aircraft electrical systems, including harness routing and interface control.

  • Contribute to the design and integration of aircraft systems such as environmental control systems (ECS), electrical power, lighting, and cabin management.

  • Develop high-level physical and functional block diagrams to communicate system architecture and harness interfaces.

  • Ensure that harness designs comply with applicable aerospace regulations, internal standards, and customer requirements.

  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to resolve design issues and support troubleshooting during installation, test, and production.

  • Participate in design reviews and provide technical input on harness design decisions and system integration impacts.

  • Maintain organized design files and documentation to support configuration control and traceability in a regulated environment.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.

  • 2+ years of experience as an electrical engineer or designer working on wire harness design or related electrical systems.

  • Hands-on experience in digital or analog circuit design and schematic capture.

  • Proficiency in using E3 design tools for electrical harness design and drafting.

  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply OEM aircraft wiring diagrams.

  • Experience integrating electrical components with OEM aircraft systems.

  • Familiarity with common aircraft subsystems and avionics.

  • Experience with aircraft systems such as environmental control systems (ECS), electrical power, lighting, and cabin management.

  • Experience with wide-body aircraft design or modification.

  • Ability to work effectively in a regulated aerospace environment and follow established engineering processes.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and systems teams.

  • Ability to take ownership of moderately complex designs and drive them to production readiness.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience supporting aircraft such as C-130s or similar military or commercial platforms.

  • Background in aircraft or military electrical design environments.

  • Experience working with integrators or organizations where engineers contribute across multiple roles and responsibilities.

  • Interest in working on programs that support major government contracts and initiatives.

  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment and handle multiple projects or tasks.

  • Motivation to develop deeper expertise in aerospace electrical systems and harness design tools such as E3.

Work Environment

The role is based in an office environment with regular collaboration across engineering, manufacturing, and systems teams, and may involve periodic work in aircraft hangars to support on-aircraft integration and troubleshooting. The organization operates as a mid-sized aerospace integrator, offering the opportunity to wear many hats, work closely with leadership from day one, and contribute directly to major government programs. Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Englewood, CO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $55.00/hr.
