BAE Systems Inc., Electronic Solutions (Controls and Avionic Solutions), is seeking a Quality Systems Manager to lead activities that sustain our AS9100 certification credentials, achieve compliance to IATF16949, achieve compliance to AS13100, and improve our business processes. The position can either be located in Endicott, NY or Fort Wayne, IN and will be responsible for:
Leading the site Business Management System (BMS) and Quality Management System (QMS) implementation and maintenance.
Establishing a compliant QMS that meets or exceeds customer requirements and industry standards.
Quality Management System design, policy definition, implementation, monitoring and analysis.
Planning, developing, reviewing and communicating customer and program quality requirements and expectations.
Leading an active engagement with 3rd party AS9100D certification registrar and auditors for planning and executing certification audits.
Assessing and determining an implementation plan for IATF 16949 and AS13100
Supporting the site internal audit programs.
Driving prevention activities and Opportunities for Improvement across business sites.
Supporting Risk Assessments, Lessons Learned and benchmarking.
Leading quality training programs.
Authoring and/or driving changes to command media that provide optimization, nonconformity prevention (aka: mistake proofing, benchmarking, improvements).
Engaging Customer(s) to address nonconformities and present QMS Key Process Indicators (KPIs).
Providing technical leadership for problem analysis and corrective action recommendations in consultation with other business functions.
Supporting advanced quality assurance planning and associated activities to ensure implementation of specified requirements at minimum quality costs.
Managing Corrective Action Responses, CAR system maintenance, Customer interface, Metrics and Reporting to Corrective Action Board.
Work closely with leadership to provide proactive, value-added solutions and program, factory, customer, and supply chain support.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Bachelor's Degree and 8-10 years of experience or 12-14 years of relevent experience in lieu of degree
Strong knowledge and experience for obtaining and/or maintaining AS9100 certification is strongly preferred
Experience in the use of root cause analysis (RCCA) tools. Investigating and resolving customer complaints
Strong and Demonstrated Communication Skills (written, verbal, visual) and interpersonal skills (listening and communicating within a group/team/geographically diverse environment).
Exhibits a high degree of technical credibility and communicates highly-technical information in a simplistic and easily understandable way
Ability to work independently
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering or Technical field and 8-10 years of experience
People manager experience
AS9100D Lead Auditor Certification
ISO9001 Lead Auditor Certification
IATF16949 Lead Auditor Certification
Green Belt and / or DLSS Certification
Experience with IATF 16949, AS13100 or ISO Quality Systems
Strong knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) tools and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)
Experience dealing with highly regulated customers, government, and suppliers
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $122400 - $208080
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
